Looking for a female director for Local Independent Film!

Independent film planning to film locally, and soon to launch crowd-funding, is seeking a female director to be part of an amazing project. Set in Fresno, CA, this Non-Doc, Independent Film in early pre-production, is designed to turn the superhero genre on its ear and return us to the kind of stories which brought us to love superhero comics in the first place... It wasn't the mega-battles, it wasn't the multi-hero crossovers with mega-villains; it was the stories that explored the humanity in…See More

Tell us about yourself:
Not counting a church Nativity when I was 3 or 4, I began acting in a local series of commercials for a local mortuary when I was approximately 7 years old (if anyone has a copy still I would love to get a copy of it as mine was stolen, long story). I began acting in school plays at age 13 in middle school, and was involved in nearly every school production in middle school and high school until I graduated in 2000. I had also been a Forensics student (Speech and Debate, mostly focused on Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation and Original Prose & Poetry) all 4 years, and a member of the choir since Spring Semester 1998 through graduation in 2000 including joining the more advanced Jazz Choir my senior year. From 1997 until 2003 I participated in many local productions, most with the former Theatre 3 in downtown Fresno.

I became a professional journalist in 2004, in the newspaper industry as Page Editor of a daily newspaper (in charge when Editor-in-Chief and City Editor were unavailable and from 7pm on). In 2008, after a move to another paper for family related reasons, layoffs ended my newspaper career.

In 2010, I began working for CentralValleyTalk.com, an Internet-based television network as Webmaster. During my time there I was also given the title of Executive Producer in Charge of New Content. In a month after working with CentralValleyTalk.com, I started CVT Weekly News, a weekly news/talk show. I was Executive Producer, Chase Producer, Director, and sadly, host (I don't like being MYSELF on camera). During this time I also created several commercials for CVT Weekly News and for a few of the station's advertisers, doing all the editing and voice over work myself. Although I was laid off 5 months later, along with essentially the entire staff, CVT Weekly News remained. The show was voted "Number One Show" on CentralValleyTalk.com in 2010 Vote-Tember Raffle by the station's viewers; had great guests such as author/actress Masiela Lusha, Talenti Gelato, Xtranormal, Vacaville International Film Festival, Broadway actor Edward C Smith, Matthew Sconce of Aftershock Studios, etc.; and promoted local businesses and artists of varying talents including film making. Sadly, budget concerns forced the end of CVT Weekly News at the end of 2011, almost a year and a half into production. I have however stayed on as an Independent Producer attempting to create and bring new programming to CentralValleyTalk.com.

Since winning Semi Finalist in Fall/Winter 2011 Pilot Category for "Acting Responsibly" Sitcom Pilot Script, with first attempt at sitcom writing; I have improved that pilot and written several others and a couple spec scripts. I have currently (as of 11/24/14) completed my second draft of my very first feature script. It was written to turn the whole Superhero concept on its ear and get these "epic" movies back to what originally made the concept epic to begin with, the human element. This allowed me to write it in such away that it is significantly cheaper to produce, and can easily be filmed locally and independently.

I have also had three gallery showings of my photography.
