Villains and unsympathetic characters don't consider themselves evil. They like everyone else is doing the very best they can given their fears, needs, knowledge, skills, pain, and personal history. Bill Boyle's Screenwriting Tip #2

Tip #2Write your narrative in the Immediate Present Tense. The Narrative of your Screen play should be written in the ‘Immediate Present Tense’. That is to say that what happens in each sentence is happening as it is being read and the next sentence is simply ether in the Universe until it too is read. Why is this? The answer will be revealed in the Basic Screenwriting Workshop on September 18 in Fresno.See More

Similarly,

You may Be able to down load attachments with the community serve list, sending them to all the members at once instead of one at a time. I dont know, I haven't used that function in a while. However, once you have a comment with downloads formatted, all you have to do is copy and paste it to the others...

Uh,...

I just thought of something...

You know how there are so many ext. types of documents out there? A 'best practice' that is now becoming popular is to save your document as a PDF and send it as a PDF because just about anyone can read PDFs.

Dear Bill,

There are three ways to download attachments when sending comments... On the menu bar directly above, the 'link' icon is for 'hyperlinks' - videos,etc... the 'photo' icon is for images' - jpegs, etc... like this:

* We should see about having you interviewed on the Alan Autry Show shortly befor your presentations!

The last is the typical 'page' icon for documents like this:

DR Echelon Press B.wps

When you download a file it always appears at the yop of your comment box, so you'll have to do a little cutting and pasting.

Yeah Bill,

Since I've been involved in several organizations and helped promote them, plus since I write an art column for local media, I've got a lot of info/suggestions I can pass on to you...

First I'd start with this site -- I'd add another entry under the 'Event' section -- this time mentioning your workshops and the discount on Write Bros Software. This way your event will be back on top of the front page again, reinforcing it in people's minds. Your first entry will come back up under it after the other events come to pass -- the important thing is to keep yourself noticed.

Next I'd format your topic as a discussion under 'Forums' with a title like "Got Screenplay Software?," "Want a Discount on Writing Software?," "Need New Writing Software?," "Have You Tried the Best Writing Software?," "Do You Really Have the Best Screenplay Software," etc...

Then I'd go on to start a discussion on screenplay software that mentions your events...i.e.: What type of screenplay software do you use? Final Draft, Write Bros, etc... What do you think of what your using now and what changes would you like to see? Would you be willing to try a different brand? Well, you're in luck. I'm Bill Boyle and [fill in whatever details] ...and I'd like to know what you think of the software you are currently using because [I'm giving a discount on Write Bros] or [a discount will be given] to those who attend... [You get the picture... Again, this will show up on the front page reinforcing you and your product (workshops/software).

Further reinforcement and attraction Bill, can be achieved by adding your photo to your page – C’mon Bill, we all want to see your maaahvaluus mug – LOL! At humanity’s speed today, it’s important to constantly flash our image to remind people that we’re still here. So, with your photo added, I’d send a few comments to others on the site, as reasonably often as possible – because every time you do, your name and image appears in the left hand column of the front page reinforcing you and your products in people’s minds… Don’t use the message function – that’s for personal, off site messages which only the receiver can read.

I don’t want to belabor any more points now – I’ll do that in an hour or so –LOL! Seriously, next I can send you some info on getting your PRs out. I’ve already talked to Jim Ward, KSEE-NBC 24 Film Critic and my Gannett Editor and he said he could at least run a short spot on you in the upcoming calendar section of their local papers, if not a small article too. Also I can get this to Doug Hansen, columnist for the Fresno Bee and FSU Instructor. Along with this I’ll send PRs to all the local media I normally send my PRs to. I can send out an e-mail blast to those on our list at the Arts Council of Tulare County which now numbers around 800. Finally I’d be willing to send PRs to all my friends in the surrounding valley Arts Councils asking them to forward the info to their local media… Hope this helps.

All the Best,
Chad
