Hello, Central Valley, my friend and I are looking to shoot a roughly 30 minute short thriller film and we need some Cast and Crew to help us out. We are planning on shooting every weekend of April and two weekends into May. This is a non-paying gig but you will receive credit and a copy of the film.
We mostly need 3 camera operators, a boom op, a sound mixer, grip, lighting, a prop manager, a script supervisor, and a makeup artist. However, we are not limited to these positions. If you think you can bring something else to the table, feel free to get in touch. If you have done work in the past please send a resume to medina.micha@gmail.com.
We also need some actors/actresses for lead roles:
22 year old white male
28 year old white female
48 year old white male
43 year old hispanic male
and Minor roles:
47 year old white male
16 year old white male
24 year old hispanic female
30 year old white male
40 year old hispanic female (dead character)
50 year old black male
The ages are not necessarily specific. If you can pass for the requested age, that will work.
If you are an actor/actress, please send a headshot and resume to medina.micha@gmail.com. We are hoping to hold rehearsals near the end of February.
Again, this is a non-paying gig. You will be given credit. Some of our previous work can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/user/DovescapeProductions/videos
Thank you!

Permalink Reply by BLARE Media - Justin McAleece on January 27, 2012 at 6:21pm I would like to say that in my experience making two really tight and concise 15-20 minute shorts will be more useful than making one 30+ minute short. You'll learn more given that it's 2 different stories and sets of circumstances and you'll have more for investors/producers/fans to look at when you decide to seek them out. If your story can only be told in 30 mins then that's fine but longer is not necessarily better. It looks like you guys have already made a ~15 min one or two so this may be your jump I just know that there is a point where making a, say, 40 minute short would be better served turning into a full feature or a shorter, better piece of the story. Good Luck!
